Dusty ruby color. Aromas and flavors of rose petals, tobacco, dried figs, almond joy bar, and sesame with a velvety, crisp, dry-yet-fruity medium body and a cheery roasted almonds and saffron finish with earthy tannins and moderate oak. A floral, chewy wine that will be a nice fit with North African fare.
This wine has a layered and vibrant nose of red cranberry, red raspberry, heat, cooked cherries and raisins. In the mouth many of the same flavors are present: raisin pie, cooked cranberries, blueberry hints. The finish seems rather soft, but then Tempranillo’s typical tannins get a little grippy. It’s ready now but wants savory and even rich foods.
